MEETING A LEGEND…….. SOURAV GANGULY

22^nd March, 2011 is a memorable day for me; it will last in my memory, life long as a treasure. During this period I visit my paternal house at Behala, Chowrasta, Kolkata. Which is happened to be the nearby residence of Sourav Ganguly, the famous Cricketer, former Cricket Captain of India. I love Cricket, and I always dream that I am playing and talking with Sourav Ganguly… In this vacation I get a chance to meet him almost unexpectedly.

Usashididi, is the daughter of my Father’s friend Santanu Uncle, is brillent in studies and quiet older than me. She loves me very much. During this holi (Dol Jatra) my parent and me are invited for dinner at Usashididi’s residence. Usashidi plays with me many types of funny mathematical puzzles and games. She is also teaching Mathematic to Sana, the only daughter of Sourav Ganguly. Usashididi asks me, “would you like to go Sourav’s house?” I promptly reply, “Yes, I will go”. As I know that such opportunity does not come frequently. It is decided that on 22^nd March,2011, it was a Wednesday. (Usashididi goes to teach Sana every Wednesday), I would also accompany her. On that memorable Wednesday, as per the plan, I was eagerly waiting with my father for Usashididi to come from her Jadavpur University.

As soon as she comes I accompany her to go to the Sourav Ganguly’s residence. We enter Sourav’s residence, crossing a big lawn. Many big cars are parked inside. We finally enter Sana’s study, crossing big hall. I watch that Sana is doing her homework, with the help of her mother Dona Ganguly, Sana also is studying in class IV like me. She studies at Loreto Convent, Kolkata. Usashididi introduces me with Sana and Dona Aunty. We become friend. We play and do some sums even. Suddenly I hear a familiar voice of Sourav Ganguly, and find that he enters in our room and asks, “Oh! Mother and daughter both are studying?” Dona Aunty replies, “Yes both are studying, you have no time to see all these,” Sourav Uncle starts laughing hearing the reply. Then Sourav Uncle calls me near to him, asks me who am I? What is my name? Which class do I study? What is the name of my school, name of my friends, how I like my school etc etc. Dona Aunty also talks me for long. After that both Sana and I obtain 10/10 in math’s test, which Usashididi gives us. There I eat Sweets and Juice. Then I return with Usashididi. Sana, Dona Aunty and Sourav Uncle are so nice to me that I never feel scared. I forget to take camera with me. Still the picture of this meeting will remain in my memory forever.
